It's been a fun day in our house. The rest of our 2017-2018 curriculum arrived! I don't know about you, but I'm one of those nerds that gets excited about Back To school deals and getting all the new fun supplies. The day our curriculum arrives is just as exciting, ha!

My son shares in this excitement...sort of. He was beyond thrilled while initially opening the box, but as reality sank in -- that he'd soon have to start school again -- the excitement kind of dwindled away. Ah, the life of a school-aged kid. When asked if he wants to start school sooner than planned, he paused and said, "Um...how about we start after Christmas???" HA! Nice try, kid. ;)

Here he is just before I asked him that...

Later in the evening, we decided to make a video to show all the curriculum we plan to use (or have good intentions of using). Even though I'm not the biggest fan of being in front of the camera, I'm constantly being asked by friends what we plan to use for each subject, so I thought this might be worth taking the time to do. My boys both decided they initially wanted to help, too! It's long, but if you're curious, or need ideas about what to use for the younger years, check it out.

If you made it through the whole thing, I'm impressed!!! I know we have a LOT that we plan to use. I mean, generally speaking, there's just the few core books that we'll use daily, but there are a lot of things that I want to add in at different times. I suppose we'll see how things go. Last year, we ended up knocking out all our core books very early and had time to do unit studies and just have fun. So this year, I thought I'd slow down on those core books and add all the fun stuff in throughout the year. I suppose one of the many perks of homeschooling is that you're able to adjust things as you go -- figuring out what works best for you and your child. For now, this is might work -- or not. We'll see!
